Default Pressure cook theory

I completely made that name up. Its just a simple idea that I came up with, although I'm probably not the first. Its a training with someone's guild that helps make people really good monks. You need 4(with heroes)-16 people to do it. Set up a guild scrimmage. 1 team = 1 monk and 7 ppl doin nothing. other team= good team. other team can and should attack everything. make it so that monking person last for as long as possible. then reset so the monk tweaks his/her build and the other team completely changes it. do this a bunch of times untill the monk gets really long times of survival. then you know you have a good monk. ----- Just throwing this out there. Came up with it 5 min ago and thought it could be really cool. Comment and cretique it to make it harder plz . tyvm.

Sounds like a great idea to me. Although I think it'd be better to have the monk's team running around or using defensive skills and a self-heal every now and then. It would teach that person who not to chase and when to anticipate a self-heal from a teammate and save that spell for someone else.

Having someone heal a defenseless team might teach give a crash-course in energy exhaustion, but something more real would be most helpful, in my opinion.

1. take your monk to HA and call..... Monk LFP, Randomway.
2. get taken into PUG
3. try and heal noobs

or

1. Make monk or Rit for RA
2. Join Battle
3. Try and heal noobs.

LOL

NO, seriously... it;s a great idea. what we do in our guild is either have weekly GVG or quite often play scrims in the hall. all it needs is a minimum of 4 players and heros. then you just go head to head in the guild hall. quite often you can get to VoD in these matches and it teaches you how to last for a long time as a healer in a high pressure situation. The positive is that if a hero dies and rezzes back at the shrine, you lose a hero (they are noobs and don;t know how to run to gates ha ha ha).

The pressure gets more and more until you in the end you either win or lose.

Finally, i would like to say, that it would be nice to be able to scrim against a full AI team in the hall. You, as a person should be able to have up to 7 heroes and then choose up to 8 heros to fight against. Customise builds, etc etc. It would help with training and would be fun to play vs AI with your chosen skills you customized for them.

before you try to train yourself using the "heal noobs in RA" un-check all your dialogue boxes for peace of mind. its good training there, but you have to be able to withstand the constants shouthing from your random teammate, that's why un-check the dialogue boxes is good.

yea in all PvP areas (any major area for that matter if you aren't trying to trade) i would turn off all chats (mainly local lol)

but RA is one of the worst places, I am constantly reminded why I always have my local turned off when my guild is meeting and they are all talking in local and say are you here in guild chat.. it's bc the idiots in RA piss me off so off goes the chat

Most teams take 2 monks and a rit (or 3 monks). You'd be better off doing this exercise with that setup. And also allow for your other guys to kite too. That'd be a little more realistic of what you want.

In the good old days, my (PVE) guild had try-outs. In it, we would get a team of 7 guildies and the recruit, and do one of the hardest areas in the game... but we tried to make it as difficult as possible on them. If they performed well we invited them.

PS: Let me tell you, tanking the end game as a Frenzy Hammer warrior with only one Monk actually trying to keep me alive was fun.

PUGging works for Pressure Cooking if you don't get a second healer. You can also H/H missions with only yourself as a monk (Some of the faction challenge missions might be good practice for that, or the 6 man areas of prophecies should be challenging but accomplishable.

This. It will teach your monks to work together rather than just spam skills till they run out of energy.

Maybe designate one player on the monk's team as the official "Leeroy"? Teach them when to chase after an ally to heal and when to just let them go die. The monk's team should not have many self-heals, since the monk is supposed to be keeping everyone else alive. Kiting is reasonable though.

Offense is the best defense, also in GW. Any bunch of half-decent players will nail your one monk in less than 10 seconds if they can just do what they do.

lol 7 ppl on one monk???? damn sure as hell the monk lasted so long. I'd think there'd be a million ways to insta kill a monk with 7 ppl.

And the name seemed really funny under the "Campfire section"

I think the idea was they ignore the monk so he has to practice on helping his team.

And the point is that 2 Warriors will drain your monk out in 10 seconds if they can freely run around with frenzy and only thing preventing them from hitting is a silly Guardian.

What he said (without the swears)

Yes, unbridaled assault will certaintly not be realistic, and it would be rough, but that's the idea. If a monk can hold out in that, then when the team mates are fighting back, it should be easier.
